Stag Timber Floors · Central Coast & Hunter Valley
Solid hardwood starts with the subfloor. If it’s not flat, dry and structurally sound, the boards won’t sit right and you’ll get problems down the line. I prep the subfloor properly before a single board goes down.
The fixing method depends on the product and the subfloor — beaded or partial glue, secret tongue and groove staples, or a full trowel glue. I’ll walk you through which method suits your floor, your house and your timber.
Once it’s laid, I sand and finish the floor in the same workflow. You get one tradesman from bare subfloor to finished floor — no handoffs, no finger-pointing if something goes wrong.
Moisture testing, levelling, and prep. The subfloor determines everything — if it's not right, the floor won't last.
Timber needs to adjust to your home's climate before installation. Boards are delivered and left to acclimatise — this prevents warping and gapping later.
Fixed down using the method the product requires — beaded glue, secret nailing, full trowel glue or tongue-and-groove staples. Every board laid tight.
Once laid, the floor is sanded flat and coated — one seal coat, two top coats. The result is a seamless, finished floor.
