Engineered timber is a real timber veneer bonded to a plywood base. You get the look and feel of solid hardwood, with better dimensional stability — it handles moisture movement and temperature swings better than solid boards in some subfloor situations.
I install engineered timber over concrete slabs, existing timber subfloors and underfloor heating systems. The plywood core gives it structural stability that solid hardwood can’t always match, especially on slab-on-ground homes along the Coast.
It’s a premium product that looks identical to solid timber once it’s down. I’ll help you pick the right species, width and finish for your space.

Levelling, moisture barrier, and any subfloor corrections. Engineered boards are more stable than solid, but the subfloor still needs to be right.
Glued, nailed or floated depending on the product and subfloor type. Expansion gaps set around the perimeter for seasonal movement.
Most engineered boards come pre-finished — if not, they're sanded and coated on site. Either way, the end result is a beautiful, durable floor.
